Balcones Youth Sports, established in 1965, is a chartered organization that supports Little League through Palomino Baseball for boys ages 4 through 18 and Pony Softball for girls for ages 4 through 14. Little League includes T-ball and Coach Pitch.
Balcones Youth Sports has five BYS teams participating in the D11 Post-Season Tournament in June! The teams have been formed and practices will begin as soon as the EOS tournament ends. The D11 tourney means a lot of good Little League baseball games to watch and enjoy.
It’s a double elimination tournament and most or all of the Balcones teams will most likely be playing away from the BYS facility. We have a 7 year old team, 8 year old team, (2) 9/10 year old teams and the 11/12 year old team representing BYS. The players will wear their regular team jerseys and will receive a special Balcones hat for their D11 team games. The tournament schedule is determined by D11 organizers. The following organizations are part of D11 and our games may be at their fields.
In addition to playing at away venues, BYS is a host to this tournament which means we will need volunteers for concession, to line the base lanes prior to the games on all three fields, empty trash cans, to announce and score keep and finally to rake the lanes after the games. Looking forward to the help and the games!

The Game Day/Practice Day rain out policy at BYS is usually determined about 1-2 hours prior to the first games/practices of the day. If it rained heavily the night before a game day or all day long prior to games/practice times, at least one to two BYS Board Members will go to the fields and check on the field conditions. If it deemed necessary to close (home plate under water, etc) we will update the Field Status widget on the right hand side of the BYS home page and send an email to all registered families.
Balcones Youth Sportsis an all-volunteer organization. The Board Members donate countless hours to the organization and are committed to making BYS a safe and fun place for kids to play ball. As a member, you will be asked to volunteer time during the season. Each team is expected to work one-two concession shifts when their child is not playing. We will also need coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, field prep, trash pick up, scorekeepers during the season. Help us help you make the facility a nice place for children to play ball!
